Observing Sessions/Star Parties/Meals for 2013

Observing sessions are scheduled on a Friday in mid-month, or Saturday if Friday is cancelled due to bad weather. They are usually held at a dark sky site near Pilling. Keep an eye on the website, Yahoo Group and Twitter for a last minute Go or No-Go. Everyone welcome, a selection of the society's equipment will be available or bring your telescope and get help and advice on using it.

Equinox Meal - Gurkha Restaurant, 16 of the usual suspects enjoyed a pleasant evening.
Apr 19
Over 15 at the session and saw - Saturn, Jupiter, First Quarter Moon, PanSTARRS and two passes of the ISS and many DSOs.
May 10
Jupiter, Saturn and good ol' PanSTARRS. Also a brilliant Iridium Flare.

Observing Session - Meet at Pilling Site. Saturn will be bright and maybe NLCs later on.

 Observing Session. Meet at Pilling site from 9:00pm. Session is ON. Come and watch the sunset.

 Star-BQ - Perseids Meteor shower. A great night for both burgers and Perseids.

 Observing Session. Pilling Dark Site from 8:00pm. CANCELLED. 95%+ cloud forecast!

 Equinox Meal. 15 memebers enjoyed the usual Gurkha fayre and a great time was had..
