Welcome

Thank you for visiting blackpoolastronomy.org.uk - the website of the Blackpool & District Astronomical Society.

BADAS was founded in October 1986 by some keen local amateur astronomers. Our society is growing and has around twenty-five members, with a wide cross-section from novices to experienced observers.

Meetings take place on a regular basis on the first Wednesday of each month.

Meetings are friendly, relaxed and fairly informal and all are welcome to attend.

** Beginners are very welcome **

On this website you can find:

  • The latest society news
  • Information about the Society - who we are, where to find us etc.
  • Info about the night sky
  • Links to local weather forecasts
  • Details of Society meetings and events
  • A gallery of members' astrophotography

If you have any questions about the society, or comments regarding the website, please go to the Contact page.
